Born in Rome, I had the luck, during childhood to spend all the summers immersed in nature living on the road with my parents in camping. I have cultivated since then the observation of the natural materials collecting everything that surprised me and that could fit in my pockets. Attitude that I have preserved the whole life until today, also including material of other origin and that have provided me of an extended collection of small wonders that still constitute source of inspiration for me. The object trouvé has become a proper poetic; sometimes it can be integral part of the artwork, sometimes it's only the “la” that initiates the creation.
My formation has been artistic and theatrical, due both to my high school and university studies and to the story of my family. In this way, on one hand I fed of with textiles and mannequins, on the other hand with stages and public.
In my artistic research I've always had great attention for the materials, for their peculiarity and also for that limit that the material itself imposes and with which I like to confront myself with.
From sculpture, mainly in flexible materials also of big sizes and from a long experience in etching and print, I come, in the 1990s, to conceive my first textile jewelry, small art objects able to catalyze emotions and visions with which to “dress” the body.
Crochet has rapidly conquered the place of honor in my art job among the instruments for its sculptural qualities and for its simplicity and lightness, characteristics that allow me to feel nomad and in action in any place and with any material I meet.
I lived in Rome and in Los Angeles. From several years I live in a small town in Umbria, far from the city, immersed in green and silence.
